Description
The CO 2 (carbon dioxide) heat pump range from Loemon is a cutting-edge heat pump system – single stage/single source high temperature hot water production – capable of generating very high temperatures for domestic hot water (DHW), sanitary water or industrial processes.
Our CO 2 heat pump systems use CO 2 (R744), a natural gas, to realize its full environmental potential as a refrigerant in terms of efficiency and sustainability.
These units are available in a variety of configurations including air-to-water and air-to-water with cooling recovery, making them extremely versatile and suitable for installation with any water system.
High thermodynamic performance
The numerous benefits of using CO2 as a refrigerant include its high thermodynamic properties and almost zero impact on the environment. This is why choosing a CO2 based system can resolve any issues related to international restrictions and regulations applicable to the use of high GWP (global warming impact) refrigerants and help protect a healthy environment by avoiding harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
Leomon offers systems that can be used in any commercial or industrial application that requires the sustainable, cost-effective production of hot water, making it an ideal solution for large facilities such as hospitals, hotels, factories and large residential complexes.
Leomon A series
The Leomon A range offers an extra wide heating capacity from 14.5 to 133.2kW which makes it ideal for a wide variety of applications. It is powerful enough to heat water to temperatures of up to 90°C with an external temperature of -20°C.
The wide range of Leomon A CO2 heat pump models produces high temperature domestic hot water with a Coefficient of Performance (CoP) of 3.2, which means significant savings on utility bills.
Versions that offer cooling recovery in the air-to-water range can produce both hot and chilled water for greater energy efficiency.
Leomon B series
The Leomon B-Series heat pumps range from 150 to 1,500kW and are water-to-water only, making them more suitable for industrial applications.
Its high-temperature heat pump provides hot water temperatures of up to 110°C. The low heating return temperature during the so-called "transcritical" CO2 cycle results in lower energy losses than conventional heat pumps with subcritical cycles.
Heating processes such as potable water preparation and process water heating allow for lower return water temperatures and can therefore be implemented using higher performance CO2 heat pumps
