Description
The air to water pool heat pump is the most efficient and economical
pool heater on the market. It helps you keep your pool water temperature at a
comfortable 28ºC or higher at a very economical cost.
How does the air to water pool heat pump work?
Air-to-water heat pumps take low-temperature energy from the air
(usually outside air), use a refrigerant cycle to raise it to a higher, more
useful temperature, and use water to transfer heat. The heat exchanger
transfers energy from the air to the low-boiling refrigerant, which evaporates
and circulates in a closed system.
The pressure of the refrigerant is raised by the compressor, which also
raises the temperature to a usable level. The refrigerant then condenses in a
second heat exchanger and releases heat to the water delivery system. The
pressure of the refrigerant is then lowered by an expansion valve, its
temperature drops, and it is ready to start cycling again and absorbing energy
from the air.
Pool heat pumps don't actually produce heat. It just transfers energy
from the air to the pool. So it will greatly reduce your carbon emissions.
The COP of heat pumps is as high as 4.8-5.0. This means that for every
unit of electricity you put into running the compressor, you can get up to 5
units of heat from the heat pump.
