Working principle
Air source heat pumps harness the free external energy in the air and bring it into the home for heating and cooling. The Leomon system uses a refrigerant vapor cycle to convert external energy into water, which is then efficiently distributed throughout the radiant floor heating system.
Leomon uses a "split refrigerant" process. Free energy from the outside air is transferred to the refrigerant at the outdoor condenser. Using the refrigerant vapor cycle, the refrigerant turns into a high-pressure gas that moves easily throughout your home. A coaxial heat exchanger within the boiler cabinet continues the process by receiving the high-pressure gas and exchanging its energy with the water circulating in the hydronic heating system.
The Leomon system "wastes" very little energy in the process of capturing energy and transmitting it to the floor, and the average annual operating efficiency will be more than 200%. This is more than twice the efficiency of any fossil fuel boiler system.
