Description
Heat
pumps are a decades-proven technology that efficiently converts electrical
energy into heat while providing cooling without exhaust fumes, particulate
emissions, or significant heat loss.
New
temperature ranges and carbon dioxide, the future-proof refrigerant used in
Leomon's high-temperature heat pumps, are opening up new economic applications
for this fascinating technology.
Leomon
high temperature heat pumps work only with the environmentally friendly
refrigerant CO 2 (R-744) and provide hot water temperatures up to 90°C from
various heat sources (e.g. outside air, process heat).
The low
heating return temperature during the so-called transcritical CO2 cycle results
in lower energy losses than conventional heat pumps with subcritical cycles.
Heating
processes such as potable water preparation and process water heating allow for
lower return water temperatures and can therefore be implemented using higher
performance CO 2 heat pumps.
