Description
DHW heat pumps, or domestic hot water heat pumps, use the existing thermal energy in the environment to produce domestic hot water. They are also suitable for optimal use of self-generated electricity from photovoltaic systems and can be coupled to existing air distribution systems.
Design and operating principle of DHW heat pumps
A DHW heat pump consists of a unit containing all the important components for the heat recovery process. These components include the evaporator, compressor, condenser and DHW cylinder. Depending on the version, an additional solar heat exchanger is integrated to allow the connection of solar collectors.
* Basic
COP: 3.4 (EN 255-3)
Our entry-level product series, the Basic series offers cost savings without being too expensive. Other optional features are also available.
* Standard
COP: 4.55 (EN 255-3)
The Standard series is 30% more efficient than the Basic series. Other optional features are available.
* Pro
COP: 4.5 (EN 255-3) 3.2 (EN 16147)
Our Pro Series offers outstanding reliability and efficiency, advanced controllers and numerous optional upgrades such as PV input and low temperature (-5°C) operation.
Features:
1. Quiet and unobtrusive
The nearly silent brushless (EC) fan provides extremely quiet operation and high airflow while consuming 65% less power.
2. Continuous availability
We use an external large surface condenser, which heats the water faster due to its larger heat transfer surface. In extreme cases,
such as commercial gym showers with uninterrupted peak flow, there is the option to enhance this with an electric heater upgrade.
3. Feature-rich and easy to use
Many heat pumps cannot operate when the temperature drops below 7°C. Our DHW products solve this problem by working in conjunction with existing heating boilers, biomass or wood stoves through an additional built-in heat exchanger. This allows them to operate where other products cannot.
4. Reliable and durable
Even at temperatures as low as -5 °C (Pro), humidity, dust and airflow obstruction are no longer a problem. Thanks to the larger evaporator and optimized fin pitch of the TermoPlus® units, they can run longer in more severe conditions than other units.
5. Maximum safety
All units can run the automatic anti-legionella program even without an additional electric heater, and the risk of refrigerant leaking into the sanitary hot water is prevented by design using an indirectly heated condenser.
6. Compatible for all seasons
Many heat pumps cannot operate when the temperature drops below 7 °C. Our DHW products solve this problem by working in conjunction with existing heating boilers, biomass or wood stoves through an additional built-in heat exchanger. This allows them to operate in situations where other products cannot.
7. Long-lasting and easy to maintain
Complete protection against corrosion is provided by using a top-quality enameled water tank with built-in MG anode.
8. Optimized performance
The performance of the Standard and Professional Series models is improved by using a thermostatic expansion valve with internal equalizer instead of a less efficient capillary tube. We also use high quality PU insulation to further reduce heat loss.
9. Incredible Efficiency and Savings
Installing a domestic hot water heat pump is more cost effective and pays back faster than any energy upgrade option available to home/building owners. For every kWh of energy consumed, a heat pump can generate up to 5 kWh of heat. If you receive a government subsidy or system grant, our heat pumps typically pay for themselves in 3.5 years or even less. This excellent financial performance is due to our unique heater-free design.
