Air Source Heat Pump Building Regulations
One of the biggest contributors to CO2 emissions in a property is the heating system, so you may want to find a way to heat your home in a more energy efficient and sustainable way. A heat pump is one way of doing this - it provides heat by taking low-temperature heat from the environment and converting it to a higher temperature.
There are several heat pump types to choose from:
1. Air source heat pumps absorb heat from outside air
2. Ground or water source heat pumps extract heat from the ground or water
3. Solar-assisted heat pump absorbs atmospheric heat
4. The exhaust pump utilizes the heat generated by the exhaust air leaving the building
The building works and the heat pump equipment itself must comply with building codes, and the person installing it preferably belongs to the relevant Qualified Persons Scheme or Micro-Generation Certification Scheme. As always, please seek reviews before you commit to any particular company doing the work. )
