Description
Heat
pump water heaters are designed to take up as little space as possible and are
ideal for installation where space is limited in tight spaces such as under
counters and crawl spaces.
The heat
pump features a 10 gallon (nominal) tank and 1 element delivering 1650 watts
and is designed to fit in tight spaces. Our anodes help protect the tank from
the corrosive effects of water and come with a 6-year limited warranty.
Product
Features and Options
1. Glass
coating
Superior
corrosion resistance compared to industry standard glass-lined liners.
2. The
coating mix is formulated in the same laboratory that provides protection for
our industry-leading commercial product line.
3.
Enhanced flow brass drain valve
Our
residential water heaters feature solid brass, tamper-resistant, enhanced flow,
ball-type drain valves. Drains quickly and easily during maintenance using
standard female hose fittings. Designed for ease of operation, the valve
includes an integral screwdriver slot with a 1/4 turn radius (open/close) that
not only allows full straight-through water flow, but also closes quickly and
reliably.
4.
Approved for the manufacture of houses
All
residential electric water heaters are HUD mobile home/fabricated home
compliant.
How does
this work?
Cold
water enters the water heater through an internal "dip tube" that
pushes cold water to the bottom of the tank and hot water through an outlet
connection. This arrangement provides the most hot water for a given tank size.
A typical residential water heater has two thermostats. The bottom thermostat
controls the lower heating element, while the top thermostat controls the upper
heating element. Typically, only one heating element is active at a time.
Because the lower element sees the cold water first, the lower heating element
does most of the work, while the upper heating element is only used when the
entire tank cools. Because water corrodes steel tanks, we glass the inside of
the tank and install anode rods to help reduce corrosion. A temperature and
pressure relief valve is a safety device designed to open when the internal
temperature or pressure of a tank exceeds certain limits. The water heater
should be large enough to provide enough hot water even when the temperature is
cooler and the household needs the most.
