Description
An air
source heat pump is a very efficient device that uses the energy in the ambient
air to generate heat. It uses a refrigerant cycle with a compressor and heat
exchanger to extract heat from the ambient air and transfer the heat to the
water. Heat pumps are three to five times more efficient than gas boilers,
while using (renewable) electricity instead of fossil fuels as an energy
source.
Leomon's
heat pumps use the natural refrigerant CO2, which has a Global Warming
Potential (GWP) of just 1, which means the technology is green and
future-proof!
CO2
air-to-water heat pumps are ideal for:
1. High
temperature domestic hot water production

Heating by high temperature radiators in existing moderately insulated houses.

can provide water temperature up to 90°C, so that a large amount of hot water
(energy) can be stored in the water tank.

an environmental and household budget point of view, the advantages of such an
efficient system are enormous. Benefits may vary by country and region. The
operating cost of the heat pump is 1/3 of that of an electric water heater and
1/4 of that of an instant gas water heater.

Electricity self-sufficiency

Although FIT (feed-in tariff) is being cut in some areas, converting surplus electricity
into heat helps local consumption of locally produced electricity.
2) For
the situation of insufficient personal consumption, the system can be set to
heat water during the period when the electricity price is low, so as to
realize the optimal utilization of energy.

Natural refrigerants and electricity as heat source
1) Use
electricity as an energy source. Therefore, no greenhouse gases are emitted
when the water is heated.

natural refrigerants to reduce the impact on the environment.
3) ODP
(Ozone Depletion Potential) is zero and GWP (Global Warming Potential) is 1.
