These clever machines work by taking "free" heat from the
fresh air around you and using it to heat water. They work in reverse like an
air conditioner, making the surrounding air cooler and transferring the
extracted heat into the pool water. They use the same principle as a
refrigerator/freezer, which has heat pipes on the back that dissipate the heat absorbed
from the food. The only electricity required is to run a small compressor,
which allows them to release up to five times as much energy as your electrical
supply consumes.

4. Digital Control - Basic Functions
1) Pool/Spa Controls
Your digital heat pump pool heater can be set to have different target
temperatures for your pool and spa. This allows you to dial in just the right
spa temperature without having to adjust it again. Swimming pools can be set to
lower, more energy efficient temperatures.
2) Remote compatibility
Digital heat pump pool heaters can be easily controlled from most two-
and three-wire remote systems. The digital display will flash
"Remote" to let you know it's under the control of a third-party
automation system. Just press and hold the up and down arrows for 5 seconds to
release control from remote mode and regain local control.
4) On Board Diagnostics
